What’s Holding You Back?

3 main things that’re responsible for your weight:

1. Genetics
2. Exercise/Activity levels
3. Diet & Lifestyle Habits

If you’re stuck in a rut then look no further than one of the above. When it comes down to it, good things happen when you improve 2 & 3. So let’s focus on those. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who didin’t progress when they made improvements in their activity levels and diet.

So for you is the problem a lack?

Lack of knowing what to do?
Lack of motivation?
Lack of good nutrition?
Or just a straight up lack of Exercise?

Whatever the problem there’s a pretty simple solution. Don’t know what to do? Find someone who does and ask. Aren’t motivated? Find a big enough reason why you’d want to lose weight, set some goals and get stuck in. If you need a little external support (a trainer/exercise buddy/socialites in an exercise class) then find whatever’s appropriate for you.

Or maybe it’s an excess?

Too much food?
Too many commitments on your time?
Too much, gasp, alcohol?

Again, pretty simple to iron out where you need to spend the time improving. When you’ve found your limiting factor you can get to work putting it right. No need to think of all the reasons why you can’t. Because you’re sure to find plenty if you do. Why not focus on how you CAN.

Given the choice your mind’ll always want to keep things how they are. It see’s change as unknown. And unknown is scary. So it’s up to you and me to steer the mind in the right direction. Focus it on what you DO want. On what you CAN do. and as I mentioned above I’m sure good things’ll happen.

Wrap up

Establish what’s holding you back, then get to work one step at a time improving in that one area. Once you’ve mastered it, move on and repeat as often as necessary (it’s a lifelong process by the way ;) ).
